All these "Wireless" high-end headsets being touted
will still ship with Cables. Even the HTC Vive wireless solution still uses Cables from the wireless attachment to the headset. Not to mention it Still ships with the original Spectra7 cable.
Even Apple's Wireless headset will likely come with a Cable that gives the user an option, should they want longer power, betyter graphics, less disrutpion in signal, when they are doing things that only require sitting in front of the computer.
Wireless is a nice Gimmick to show people how easy it is to walk around and watch cute movies and videos, along with a few simple games, but any serious VR and AR in the forseeable future will still be tethered...
