This weekend I will try to piece together some stronger information regarding the electrical consumption savings that the company has estimated to be at about $20 million annualized by using their proprietary interconnects..
If you read the release carefully where they talk about top of the rack equipment with 32 port connections when using this energy savings assumption.
If I can calculate carefully it may be pretty easy to get an idea as to how many interconnects at 28watts savings per server would be generate this kind of energy savings...
Stay tuned, as I will frame the idea and process, but will probably need some help with this.
I did a rough and quick thumb nail calculation and I think the number of interconnects required per DC to hit these saving figures could be pretty massive!
I don’t know how many DC’s to se this spine and lead architecture vs how many existing centers have this 32 port set up ...
