Software Engineer

R & D – Little Rock, Arkansas
 

Spectra7 is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on individual with a passion for excellence and innovation to work with a growing team in the design and development of the Company’s high-speed analog products. The ideal candidate is self-directed, highly accountable and has the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Sr. Software Engineering Manager and is located in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software applications and libraries used for high-speed analog IC components embedded in active copper cables using object-oriented design methods.
  • Maintain and enhance existing software application, libraries, documentation, and development infrastructure.
  • Work directly with internally designed hardware and off-the-shelf test equipment to automate product development and test procedures.
  • Work in a small team to research business problems, identify applicable tools and technologies, implement solutions, and follow-up to ensure the desired results are achieved.
  • Manage multiple projects of varying complexity, interfacing with end customers, sales/marking, product development, and others to coordinate project activities. 

Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Education

EducationA minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline (e.g., Physics) is required with MS as a strong plus.

Work Experience: A minimum of two years of software design and development.

Work Habits, Skills, and KnowledgeThe ideal applicant will possess the following traits:

  • Functional understanding of object-oriented software development concepts, testing, and software design.
  • .NET programming experience (c# and WPF preferred).
  • Python programming experience (Experience with NumPy, Pandas, and Seaborn packages preferred)
  • Unit Testing (xUnit, PyTest).
  • Experience with build automation and package management tools.
  • Must be able to work with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate with team members in other geographic locations.
  • Acute attention to detail with excellent organization skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
