Why is Macom interested in SR copper cabling??

That was a good catch by you, listening to that I call. But all he said was short reach copper, referring to 400 and 800 G data center. This could mean they are interested in developing some form of Active solution, but it is by no means an easy task to duplicate an Analog chip. They would be starting from scratch. I once read that, although Digital chips are easy to copy by reverse engineering,

But, also, having said all that, yes, it does sound like Macom is interested in ACC. And I believe that will become trend as more companies realize the potential. But I'm not concerned about competiton... I expect it, but I'm not troubled by it. It will come, yes, but Spectra7 will remain the dominant player. It'll be fun...

another thought is that their clients gave been inquiring as to if they have something comparable which nobody does.the fact that it is being brought up not only by s7 but by other companies proves it's own dominance. I find this reassuring.

Steve, Macom is a 5 Billion market cap company, perhaps they are considering going after S7 as an acquisition target considering the miserably low S7 market cap? I know Macom has done acquisitions in the past

As I highlighted in my comments, we're looking seriously at working with customers that are developing solutions using copper cables, which are very, very short reach connections within the data center. And so that's an area of interest for Macom and I'm confident we can be successful there.

Steve, he must be talking about DC operators that are already Macom customers, and he must be talking about ACC, there is no way he is pumping passive copper cables here, and Macom already sells AOC product, so I'm sure they are aware that at the higher speeds of new hyper-DCs that ACC will start taking business away from AOC

so what happens if Macom puts up even a low ball offer for S7, let's say 100-200 million (or 10-20 cents/sh), the PPS would likely jump that day to the 25-50 cents/sh range, woudn't you agree? it could happen!

You need to re-calculate your stock price based on ALL of the dilution the mgmt has executed over the past 3+ years, add in warrants, even ones that are over any buyout amount. This company has always been a buyout candidate with their patents however they have not executed well in pushing for adoption of the technology. Mgmt thought they could just build the product and everyone would show up at
