Anyone selling today (and 8.8 M units traded) sacrificed 4.4% return over the next 4 months or so. Just nuts!

Can anyone answer this question? Do security regulations allow DIR.un and GIC to buy the SMU.un units ahead of the proposed closure of the deal (i.e., buy at a discount today AND then get to cast even more votes in favour of the deal). Not that this transaction is in danger of being rejected by unitholders. Also, it is unlikely that at this multiple that an alternative offer will emerge. So a done deal!
