* ShaMaran has four oil projects in Kurdistan. They are all in the northern extension of the Zagros Folded Belt where in the current situation is ongoing intense activity of more than 30 medium and large international oil companies (which ShaMaran thus is one):

1) Atrush area (northern Kurdistan, about 300 km2, ie about 1,5 X1, 5 mil):

In January, 3400 meters of drilling conducted on Atrush-1. In April, confirmed a major oil discovery there ("a major oil discovery"). 3D seismic survey commenced in July to assess the size.

Now planned for oil well Atrush-2 where drilling should start in 2012.
