PEKANBARU – Cooperation Contract Contractor (KKKS) PT Sumatra Global Energy (SGE) as the new operator of the Long Strait Working Area since 2019 has succeeded in reactivating the wells in the Long Strait Work Area so that the work area can be produced again.

General Manager of PT SGE, Muhammad Fattah, said that PT SGE has reactivated 2 wells, namely BA-7 and BA-8 in the Mangrove Field from a target of 3 wells with a production of around +/- 330 barrels of oil per day accommodated in Oil Barge where today the release of Oil Barge from the Mangrove Field to Pertamina Sei Pakning will be carried out as part of the First Lifting process in the Long Strait WK. "After these 2 wells, SGE plans to reactivate the next well, namely BA-9, so that it is expected that production can reach around 500 BOPD and seismic activities in 2023," fattah said.

The management of KKKS SGE also expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the support and assistance of the Regional Government, both the Riau ESDM Office, Siak Regent, Sungai Apit Sub-district, KSOP, Police and SKK Migas so that they can re-produce oil from the Long Strait Working Area. Towing Oil Barge from the Mangrove Field is carried out on December 05, 2022 at 18.30 with a cargo of around +/- 5,700 barrels of oil to Pertamina Sei Pakning with a journey of about 9-12 hours. "Let's pray together that the first lifting process of KKKS SGE can run safely and smoothly to Pertamina Sei Pakning so that with this lifting, it can increase national production and support the 2030 production target of 1 million barrels per day according to the mandate of the President," said Rikky. "Sumbagut representatives as the frontline of SKK Migas always provide support to KKKS in carrying out oil and gas exploration and production," he continued.

The Head of the Riau ESDM Office, Mrs. Evarefita, appreciated the first lifting activity in the Long Strait Working Area because oil and gas production in Riau Province will increase which has an impact on increasing Regional Revenue through the Profit Sharing Fund. The Riau ESDM Office also appreciates the good cooperation or synergy with SKK Migas and KKKS in Riau Province because every activity is always informed and problems are resolved together.

On the occasion, BOD PT SGE said that this activity was the company's commitment to increase oil and gas production in achieving the Government's target where SGE is optimistic that it can produce around 5,000 bopd in the coming years. The towing oil barge activity was witnessed directly by the Head of SKK Migas Representative for the Sumbagut Region, the Riau ESDM Office and the PT SGE PSC Management.

The Long Strait Working Area previously ceased operations in 2017 because the operator was previously declared bankrupt by the Court. This Working Area has 3 active fields, namely the Mangrove Field, the Long Strait Field and the Oil Swamp Field.
