Cote is a tough nut - it's not economic at current Au prices. It also lacks grade continuity if you agree with the likes of Brent Cook, who, I seem to remember stating that the mineralization is errratic and unevely distributed throughout the deposit - this presents quite a few challenges in a mining scenario (ie) which trucks to you direct to the mill.....which trucks do you direct to the dump?
But to say that IMG is not interested in maintaining Cote as an important part of its mineral inventory would be exttremely naive. IMG is well aware that large gold deposits, especially those in mining friendly jurisdictions, are few and far between. If gold brealks out and IMG mgnt does not deal with STA in a meaningful way; one that settles this dispute once and for all......they'll be accountable to shareholders.
