Is Barrick Shopping?

Is Barrick Shopping?
BARRICK GOLD CORP CHIEF EXECUTIVE MARK BRISTOW

“You’ve got to dig quite deep” to find new projects worthy of acquisition, Bristow said. “Buying a producing asset is not so easy because you know … it’s probably too much of a premium.”

He added, “If you can find those early prospective opportunities, and you know, you can consolidate them into a regional play, that’s the thing I’m focused on right now with the team.”

So while WE wouldn't even be on their radar screen, I think somebody like TGZ might very well be. They are quickly approaching production in the 500k oz per anum area, and with Barricks $$, they can fast track Golden Hill with a kicker from SWA and become a 700-800k ounce producer, meeting Bristow's challenge of not having to overpay for any asset.
