A Halifax-based company says a wind farm project straddling Nova Scotia's Antigonish and Pictou counties is complete.
Ian Tillard, chief operating officer for Shear Wind Inc., says all 27 turbines at the Glen Dhu wind farm have officially been installed.
He says final connections were finished Thursday.
With the right wind speed, Tillard says the turbines have a total capacity of 62.1 megawatts, or enough power for roughly 18,000 homes.
Tillard says it's a powerful wind farm that was built mostly by Nova Scotians.
The project's first nine turbines began generating electricity on Dec. 31, 2010 in the Brown's Mountain area of Antigonish County.
Deadline was April 1st or $1.5 million penalty!!!.Congrats
