Hoops is being smart. If you are want to negotiate better leases of course you would tell farmers not to wait at the mail box. So something is better than nothing and thats what these folks will think if somebobdy shows up and offers a renewal at a lower price. shrewd if you ask me. however, economics may not allow the company to renew all 72k acres, but they should know the geology better now and where they want to keep their investment.
