MIRAMICHI, N.B. - Slam Exploration Ltd. (TSXV:SXL) shares jumped 20 per cent Friday after the company said it will acquire the remaining 30 per cent interest it doesn't already own in two gold properties.
Shares in the junior exploration company added 1.5 cents to nine cents as more than two million shares traded hands on the TSX Venture Exchange.
The jump followed an announcement by the company that it has signed an agreement with a numbered company to increase its stake in the Miminiska and Keezhik gold properties to 100 per cent.
Slam will pay 500,000 common shares, worth $45,000 at the closing price Friday, plus another 1.5 million warrants for the stake. Slam will also pay a finder's fee of 50,000 shares and 100,000 warrants to the Eabametoong First Nation.
The company said it expects to begin drilling at the property in approximately three weeks.
Slam, based in Miramichi, N.B., owns gold properties in Ontario and silver-copper-lead-zinc properties in New Brunswick.
