Probably the most real thing you will read on SH!People need to do their own due diligence. When I joined SH back in February, I was hoping that I would gain some valuable knowledge or at least observe some intelligent perspectives regarding investing/trading, and what makes a company favourable. Well, it’s a good thing that I’m a good judge or character and simply ask questions (via research). Although my experience/knowledge prior to discovering Stockhouse was limited (yet above average), I still had experience and naturally give people the benefit of the doubt.
Main lessons learned/observed on Stockhouse:
1) Those that hype up a stock hard for weeks as it appreciates….and I’m talking non-stop cheerleaders that constantly write posts WITHOUT NEW relevant facts are doing this to make mud look like gold.
2) Those that give exaggerated, yet false info, are doing this to create a sense of excitement, desire, and hopes for huge catalysts that are essentially non-existent. Prime example is Dan Mahowny creating a false “rumour” of FDA approval, when in reality there hasn’t been a submission as of yet. Look for “load up, anything under 0.12 is a steal” followed by a similar post, but ironically reduces the “buy” price.
3) Although some will religiously pump a stock, you might get lucky enough notice this early enough before a short run you could get lucky. BUT mind you, and this is crucial, you must research the company and look at the charts! Penny stocks on the venture or CSE hit the roof over a day or two, instantly followed by a plummet in the SP where support originally was, or worse, it falls below support.
I’ve read a lot of poster say “a person’s opinion has no effect on the share price” well folks remember this, Stockhouse isn’t as small as a lot of people think it is. Furthermore, you have absolutely no idea who is reading these posts or how deep their pockets are.
Main point, if you see a lot or volume, attention, news, and endless pumping, it’s not a bad thing…but you have to research or you will buy at the 52 week high and get stuck holding a stock that you might extremely regret buying.
JEN is solid, but after results come out it will be a while until FDA approval. Just sharing some food for thought.
