RE:RE:Simple and Elegant... Mikee3003,
First, let me add my voice t those offering congratulations for your successful battle with a blood borne cancer. In 2013, I made contact with my college roommate after 45 years, and he offered a similar story of successful treatment. A year or so later my younger brother began a similar battle. He, too, won his battle, only to lose his life suddenly to sepsis and multiple organ failure after "successful surgical treatment" for an unrelated condition. While my knowledge is not firsthand, in both cases it is close secondhand.
What you may be overlooking, however, is the distinct types of cancer cells treated. Chemotherapy kills the active cancer cells, but it does not kill the cancer stem cells. They remain in your body ready and able to mount another attack at some future time.
It was reported that the Theralase PDT, through its MOA, destroys the cancer stem cells in addition to the active and growing cancer tumor cells in the course of treatment of NMIBC. I have not seen this claim made for the company's recently announced and patented cancer vaccine therapy for bloodborne cancers. I suspect that may be forthcoming when it has been demonstrated further in clinical trials.
If you find this insulting and chose to feel insulted, that's your choice. You are the only one on this earth responsible for your own feelings and how you choose to feel at any time. As an alternative, however, you might try feeling thankful and blessed for the treatments you received that have enabled you to survive these years waking up "on the right side of the grass."
