RE:RE:RE:RE:Dr Tim Ball Defeats Michael Mann’s Climate Lawsuit! gebremeskel: You are correct – this has nothing to do with Theralase; for some reason my steely determination not to respond to climate discussions -- vanished this morning. It’s really a bit like arguing about religion.
However – I must say that the Climate Depot will always argue something different from Skeptical Science:

In the end, what people believe is irrelevant -- the only thing that counts is evidence. In order to show that mankind can control global temperatures – alarmists need to prove that – if emissions rise to x, then the temperature will be y. If they can make that accurate prediction, then we might believe them when they say that if emissions fall to c, the temperature will be d. Their failure to predict the “pause” does not help their case.
As an additional skeptical element – it is interesting that few alarmists care to consider the costs of their proposals. Someone who has dealt with the issue is Steven F. Hayward. I have no way of knowing how accurate his estimates are – but he argues that the proposed 80% reduction in greenhouse gasses by 2050 would require – in the United States – a reduction in emissions to 2.5 tons per capita by that date – about one-quarter of the amount in 1910! (In part because of the population increase.) Sounds like a significant increase in the price of caves, roots, and berries to me.
