Soon: in or within a short time; before long; quickly; in a prompt manner

 

In fact, the meaning of “soon” depends on the context.

 

1. Dinner time. The dinner guests were to arrive at 6 for dinner at 7. At 6:10 – “They will be here soon” – means in the next 15 - 20 minutes.

 

2. Corporate goal time. “Last quarter, we matched the production of Goliath Widget Corp. We expect to overtake them soon” – means in 3 - 6 months.

 

3. Glacial time: “Soon, those receding glaciers will completely disappear” – means in the next 50 - 100  years. 

 

3. Theralase time. “We expect news soon”  – means in the indefinite future. Sub text: “Please go away. Technically a public corporation, in concept and spirit, we are a private club; shareholders are a nuisance – a regrettable, unfortunate necessity. You mind your business --we’ll mind ours. Have a nice day.”

 

I might add that the company rep who said that there was nothing to be impatient about was not encouraging. That means that there is no news of any significance. They may have painted the coat closet door, and fixed the leaky faucet in the washroom. More discouragingly, people are usually impatient about good news – not bad news. The suggestion is there is no good news.

 

It would be nice to think he meant there was nothing to be worried about – but I tend to be a literalist.

"Soon" means they're awaiting something from a 3rd party, so out of their control.  And it means that on their side, they've done their part and are now awaiting for a return from that 3rd party. So it could be waiting to achieve a certain milestone (ex. Patient x 450-day date, input from their CRO), validation agreement regarding details of a jv deal, lawyers on both

No.   Better to deliver when everything is settled than to open the door to manipulation (shorts), like we see on so many other stocks.  Let's take short by surprize.  The spike will be more intense. And in highly competitive business environment, partners require silence, discretion.

Sounds like a very plausible factor of events that could be ongoing right now. I can't imagine the share price rose on that vaxx press release. Something else must have brought the increased value where it is today. I can of course be very wrong, but that's they way I see it. Horribly frustrating though to wait but if somethings comes from it, it should be worth a lot.

A few years back the PR said BTD AA and priority review they've recently dropped a priority review from the P r's but I have an expectation that priority review is in progress right now or very near completion or possibly completed
