bid and ask (manipulation? who knows)

I'm not one for saying that stock price movements are because of manipulator but the bid ask today is interesting.

Someone put 181,500 on the ask at 0.17

There is a bid of 95,500 at 0.165 and another 50,000 at 0.16

So the person with the bid at 0.17 could sell 145,500 for  $24,735 if sold at 0.17
OR if they really want to get out of TLT asap they could just sell a similar amount for 23,757.5 and take the bids right now at 0.16 and 0.165, In both scenarios they "exit" most of the position but the price difference is a bit less that $1000.

Follow my logic here. They really want to get out, to the degree that they are putting a large ask at 0.17 but are holding the line for an extra $1000. Whenever I've sold out a larger position, I have done it in small chunks over a day or two to not create a ripple.

I feel that putting a large ask right there is likely to create a wall that most will not have the funds to buy into. Or they will be nervous about further dips so hold off. It feels fake in terms of how normal people try to buy, sell or hold. But that is my opinion.

It is frustrating as it does feel manipulated and not a fair reflection of TLT's science and overall worth. If I had the cash I would buy out that ask as it is a good deal but, like most of us, I'm maxed out for now. Which is the perfect scenario for a stock to be manipulated at.

ps: the bid ask may be slightly different buy the time I finish writing this.

Let them play games. It's end of year.  No worries. Have patience. The stock will move when it's ready and it will not be  .16 or .17 pennies. Heck, we may see days when it moves up 16 or 17 pennies.

I have to believe it's tax loss selling. I used to think there was a risk in that but that's when we thought the right news was just around the corner. I fully believe we get BTD soon, in Q1 as stated, but I think those selling know that unless it's before the end of January there is no risk of not being able to buy their stock back.  I also think 2 things are true, those selling

Hi DJDawg, manipulation can be done by one or more people (penny flippers?) and could involve holding several trading accounts so as to not draw attention to the same pattern of seller to buyer, if its only one person then its legal but if more than one person and if they are working together then that's conspiring to manipulate and is illegal.  I've watched the patterns and they are

Apop, I have never believed the tax loss reason either in past years, I didn't think there could be enough of a loss for anybody to do it - for instance when the stock was above 30 cents. But at these levels some could have a loss of as much as 50% I would think and that may also explain why we are down here. They may have taken it down just for that reason knowing full well that BTD would

Dawg, this unfortunately lines up with my "Roger put a target on the back of his company by running it into a liquidity crunch every 3 or 4 months" theory. The sharks are data centric beasts who asymmetrically game retail all day long. I don't know what buyer depth looks like on L2 each day but that certainly bears monitoring. One thing we learned from the fall is that RDW is fully capable of amping up the news releases to create positive energy. We need this now. This afternoon bids was 325k till 0.155. I dont recall exacly the ask till 0.205 but it seems that it does not change after the close. Now the ask is about 286k till 0.205 with a walll of 202k at 0.21 and this, after hour.Now s my rbc account bids as decline to 271k. i am sorry for some bad posts sometime but ifor myself have a cancer of lung and will be treat whit a study phase 3 whit astra

And you wonder how many of the 15 or so that started as CR or IR and trending to NR would have benefited with an additional treatment at Day 270.  Sometimes, you want the earth to spin a little faster to get to the review and decision. Hope the FDA or HCA don't add more obstacles to hurdle over. Would almost  be criminal.  Let's hope they put out a compelling EOY release
