How stupid it is/was for a mining company that isn't yet and (has never) generated profit and should be optimizing a mine to raise but more importantly spending even one red cent on exploration in another jurisdiction.

Unless there's something terribly wrong with the mine itself and there is NO prospect to get to profitability... it is infinitely stupid. 10/10 businesses that spread themselves thin in a weak environment fail. The only conclusion is incompetence/bad business decisions or serious issues leading to gambling. That's my opinion.
