RE:RE:CEO Has Integrity
TransGaming Inc. (TSX-V: TNG) is the global leader in the multiplatform deployment of interactive entertainment. TransGaming works with the industry’s leading developers and publishers to enable and distribute games for Smart TV set-top boxes, Mac computers, and Linux/CE platforms.
TransGaming’s GameTree TV is the premier on-demand Smart TV gaming platform, offering an unparalleled user experience on the next generation of set-top boxes and connected consumer electronic (CE) devices. The GameTree TV Platform delivers an extensive catalog of video games that can quickly and easily be accessed on-demand. Through a flexible and seamless transaction system, subscribers can choose from a variety of pricing models billed directly through the cable provider.
Since 2011, TransGaming has operated a service called GameTree TV which streams family-friendly casual video games over the Internet to Smart TV viewers. Because most televisions lack the required hardware to render most video games, GameTree TV allows TransGaming to handle all of the resource-intensive rendering on servers far away, streaming only the final video output to a user’s TV.
The service is similar to the likes of OnLive or Sony-owned Gaikai, which instead stream more well-known video games from major publishers to PC and PlayStation owners.
TransGaming a recurring multi-million dollar annual revenue stream generated through new distribution agreements with numerous leading Smart TV manufacturers and an extensive network of cable, satellite, and iTV service providers.
GameTree TV is already available in the U.S. for DISH Network and DirecTV subscribers, and in certain European and Asian markets, which TransGaming estimates puts it in 60 million households worldwide. However, by teaming up with Samsung, TransGaming will dramatically increase the number of markets and users who will potentially have access to its game streaming service. By 2015, market research firm IHS iSupply estimates that smart TVs will make up 55% of all shipments.
