Maker of Candy Crush file IPO

Makes me wonder why TNG does not do more to monitize it catalogue of GameTree games. Why is TNG restricting the games to TV? Why not release all these games (over 100) to mobile devices?

GOOD QUESTION!!
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 10:50am
You don't know that TNG licenses their games from developers? Have you done any DD on this play?
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 11:27am
I posted a question and you could not politely respond by suggesting a reason that answered the question. Instead you had to word your response in such a way as to attack my character. You deserved to be banned.

GOOD QUESTION!!
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 11:09am
LOL none of these guys know that TNG doesn't own the games, they license them.
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 11:10am
We know but who says TNG can't distribute beyond TV.
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 11:15am
Because the owners of the games distribute them. Why would they license games to TNG and let them license them to other platforms? Why lose that revenue?  And TNG has no sales organization to do licensing. Not to mention I bet if you looked the games are already available on other platforms.  Face it you don't even understand the business.
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 11:20am
Nice try but you are guessing. We have no idea how the license agreements are structured with the developers. I do not see any GameTree games offered other than through GameTree TV so developers are not earning revenue from other sources. Expanding to mobile would increase their revenue.
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 12:33pm
You really are out to lunch. Go look at the games. You think Tetris is not available on other platforms? All the games from 2xl? Alawar? Blitz? Taito?  All the developers offer their games across platforms. You're just too lazy to do any DD. And again why would these developers let someone else do the licensing and take away their revenue. I have a suggestion. Buy a clue.
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 2:00pm
You are wrong. Show me where Moodies or Space Moodies is offered anywhere other than on GameTree. Also, why would GameTree pay good money to license games from developers if the developers were going to also license/sell their games through other avenues? They wouldn't. GameTree probably have exclusive licenses with the developers.
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 3:12pm
No I'm not wrong. You picked two games that may not be available on other platforms. I already proved that many developers licensing games to tng also make them available on other platforms. If I went through the whole list I would bet it is all.  And for once give your head a shake why would a game developer give a smart tv provider exclusivity. It makes no economic sense. And if tng ...more
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 3:25pm
You proved nothing. You mentioned one game by name Tetris but you did not show the identical game is on GameTree and other platforms. And you failed to find Moodies or Space Moodies on any other platform and tried to brush it off like those are the only two. They are not. And even if they were it goes back to my original question - why doesn't TNG offer its exclusive games on mobile devices ...more
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 3:36pm
They license games. They don't own games. You can't sell what you don't own. And if you looked you would see Tetris is Tetris. On all the platforms. And if 90% of the games they offer are in other platforms who is more correct? Me.
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 3:45pm
Wrong again. In the apple App Store I see Tetris Blitz and Tetris for iPad. I do not see Tetris®
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 3:53pm
LOL. Tetris is Tetris. You really are a sad case.
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 3:59pm
Not an answer
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 4:05pm
We all know that game developers get around copyright laws by knocking off games by introducing slightly different features and slightly different names. This why you see multiple versions of many games in the app stores. But your contention was that GameTree's version of games is distributed on platforms other than TV. You have not produced a shred of evidence for this allegation.
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 4:09pm
Actually I proved it in spades with all the developers I mentioned. And how about we add monopoly.  Go research that one. Let's do this game by game.
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 4:13pm
GameTree's version of  Monoply is not in the app stores.
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 4:20pm
So gametree does not have the official version? The App Store does.
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 4:25pm
GameTree's version is authorized, or official, because they paid the license.
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 4:38pm
And the iTunes app isn't? You're hilarious.
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 4:41pm
Didn't say that. Your twisting words again.
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 4:10pm
And since Tetris is trademarked those are not knock offs. Apple and the game developer would both not allowmthat to happen.
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 4:37pm
Tetris Blitz and Tetris for iPad are both games from Electronic Arts. The word Tetris is in both titles but the games are not identical.
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 4:42pm
EA owns Tetris. Enough said.
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 4:49pm
And the only way you will prove your point is to confirm that GameTree licenses and distributes the exact same Tetris game from EA. In the meantime you did not find Moonies, Space Moonies, World Poker Tour games distributed anywhere. So my point stands - GameTree has games that are only distributed on TV, so why don't they expand disribuiton to other devices.

Wrong. pg.4 of AIF say: "The addition of Oberon’s extensive games catalog adds over 100 video game titles to the Corporation’s GameTree TV portfolio, giving it the most comprehensive content library available for Smart TV. More importantly is the brand value of some of this content which includes exclusive licenses to World Poker Tour®, Tetris®, Deal or No Deal, 1 vs 100, and Hasbro ...more
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 3:16pm
Funny thing is you can get all those games in the Apple app store and google play. Maybe they have tv exclusivity. In any case again you're wrong. What a loser.
Comment by dayindayout on Feb 18, 2014 3:26pm
that sounds like it means the exclusive rights to smart tvs.
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 3:38pm
Right. So they have exclusive rights on smart tv to under 100 games. Most of which nobody has heard of. And there are how many games in mobile devices that could be offered by others?  Let's just say a bunch.
Comment by lscfa on Feb 18, 2014 3:29pm
Prove it. Show me where you see World Poker Tour in the App Store.
Comment by mbbttfb on Feb 18, 2014 3:51pm
Not sure how I can prove it. Just google it if you can't find it. Plus in the US store they have other WPT apps. Obviously gametree has their own "exclusive" version. Plus there are a million poker games out there. So who cares about having exclusive access to a game in a commodity category.
