RE: FYI I don't think that's news to anyone. It's been known for a while that WTI is trading at a discount to Brent and Alberta a discount to WTI. The question that most Canadians should be asking is why not send that oil to Ontario and get it refined there (Alberta producers would get higher prices as Ontario currently buys Brent) plus it would reduce gas prices at the pump for everyone in Ontario which I'm sure they would like. Alberta and Saskatchewan should pool together and get an OIL pipeline built to Ontario. But that's the wisdom of the pipeline companies back in the days to just concentrate and built the pipelines to the US, now that the US will be a big oil producer, western Canadian oil producers have to sell their oil cheaper.
