RE: RE: TPL News on the increased volumes will definitely help. But news release is not an "if" but a "when" so as much as I want to see the official NR on this news, I'm more looking forward to the next Doris appraisal well that is to be spud sometime in Q2.
The last NR stated that they are going to look to kill two birds with this next well, Doris extension and the shallower Dyna prospect (edge of Dyna). If you look at the Jan 2012 presentation (pg 12), TPL shows the overlapping of both the Doris and much larger aerial extended Dyna sands.
To put it in prospective the last reserves report is only based on the #1 and #6 wells with a little from the #5 well and all 3 wells are spaced close together. The next well at Doris will be in the southeast where Doris and Dyna overlap making the location a much further step out that what TPL has done to this point at Doris. And it's been stated in TPL's last webcast that the sands at Doris thicken as they move southward, further increasing the potential for reserves on top of the step out distance.
Their looking to increase the reserves again by a very large margin with this well. And the beauty for me is that these wells will probably be drilled to only 2,500 m deep as both the #1 and #6 wells both had their lower Cretaceous zone shallower than 2,500 m deep. In Western Canada their drilling twice that deep and hoping to hit 1/2 - 1 million bo at a greater cost of drilling to what TPL is doing. Much better bang for your buck with where TPL is drilling.
