Let's be clear, these are not Ucore's patents to buy, sell or state what happens to them. These patents still belong to IBC. Probably what is a major concern to the tar sands company is that they have sole ownership of the materials extracted through the separation process. Also what they are talking about is probably the patent on the formula for the particular ligand for this process so they can continue to generate income even when not their product being separated.
Jim seems to be the frontman with these news releases but IBC has plenty to say I'm sure in the boardroom.

They'll work it out.
