GM and Ford are coming

Another piece of the puzzle has now fallen into place.  The selection of the LA site finally confirmed where the initial processing facility will be located and surprisingly included two additional phases to expand the overall production from 2K to 5K to 7.5K tonnes.  I expected the Kingston facility to be the "Phase 2" in boosting production above 2K tonnes but it looks like the development of a fully commissioned commercial Kingston facility will be coming later according to the news release.

Total cost is projected to USD75 million but I would expect Phase 1 to required around USD30 million initially give or take.  Next piece of the puzzle is the offtake agreements which I expect to fully fund Phase 1.  GM and Ford are coming (again this was mentioned by the company but not by name).

I believe that the announcement of a multiple phase development is good news.  This indicates to me that there are multiple offtake partners lining up to take up the production capacity (again the company has said a much).  The target of the end of 2024 for commercial production is also good news to me too.  The potential offtake partners must have requested this aggressive date to meet their own EV production sourcing schedules so they can't waste time negotiating forever either.

Given we are now in April 2023, the company and the offtake partners need to announce something soon in order to meet the 2024 deadline.  As usual, watch the stock price and the trading volume.  When they start to move up strongly again then we know we are close.  Not much time left to procrastinate so get on with it Ucore and whoever you are talking to about offtake agreements.

I admit that I thought things would play out sooner with UCU like in Q1. However the company has been leaving us bread crumbs to follow. As you say let is see how this plays out. The company has created their own aggressive deadline of the end of 2024. Thank goodness we don't have long to wait if the company and their offtake partners do announce the funding if they want to hit this deadline ...more

Fyi think last NR alluded to q1 2025 they delayed RSX commissioning 4-5x over the last 2 yrs i would expect us to be lucky if SMC was q4 2025 ( if they got funding) that's not doomsayer stuff.  Just tracking how quickly RSX tracked and going with same thought process

Dear Pip,  As you have said many times before it all depends on funding.  But I would like to say that a couple other factors play into it.  One world events, it China pulls the trigger and cuts off REEs from the west because Biden stopped there chip industery in it's track.  Lynas has to shut down until the cracking plant in WA come on line.  Both of which could ...more

Dragon it does mostly depend on funding.  What your talking about works if ucore has a road to separation for REEs funding gives them that road pps may spike some in sympathy if China weaponizes ree again. a stock price more than 50?  You wonder why you have no credibility with ridiculous stuff like that let them get some cash before you take your crazy pills i like zeihan but ...more

More correctly, China evidently is looking at banning export of processing technologies, not the actual stuff. Still, I think the now 20-month timeline is laughable irrespective of offtakes. But it is at least nice to know the location and larger production planned, but very unrealisic on timeline projected.  https://www.msn.com/en-xl/news/other/china-eyes-banning-export-of-rare-earth ...more

GM & Ford??? how are you so sure of that? All they mention in past PR's is auto industry OEM's,,,,could be anyone for all we know if at all. What Ucore says and what actually happens in most cases are 2 completely differnt things, I elude to the phrase "IRON CLAD", another company debacle. Regarding SP & volume movement. Jump on Yahoo and correlate the spikes in SP and ...more

Very well put we all hopeful but way past the talk and prognostication point Mutt hasn't been here long, he hasn't witnessed the hope and dreams of the longs constantly get the rug pulled out from them. I do think they are closer to success than they have been but lotsa hurdles and funding the get dont want it to be " close but no cigar"

GM and Ford are just logical partners given the deals they have struck to build out their EV production capabilities in the past year.  I have been in this stock since Q4 last year. So under a year and my entry price is well under CAD dollar. I see how things are developing and feel we are close having all the pieces in place for a serious strategically important business. I am not early ...more
