NewsUranium North Identifies High Priority Exploration Targets in the Athabasca Basin
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Jul 5, 2007 (CCNMatthews via COMTEX News Network) --
Uranium North Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE:UNR) announces that uranium exploration targets have been identified on the 100% owned Carswell East property in the Athabasca Basin of Saskatchewan. Several multi-kilometer scale EM conductors have been identified from a recently completed MEGATEM survey. Broad historical airborne uranium anomalies are associated with some of the conductors.
A helicopter supported exploration team has been mobilized to the property for follow-up on the anomalies. Extensive boulder and geochemical sampling over six priority conductors is underway to identify alteration zones that could be associated with high grade uranium mineralization.
The Carswell East property is located on the western side of the Athabasca Basin just 20 km east of the past producing Cluff Lake Mine. The Shea Creek deposit, owned by UEX/Areva is 20 km to the southwest and has drill intercepts yielding up to 27% U3O8 over 8.8 metres.
Jeremy S. Brett (P.Geo.) is Uranium North's qualified person reviewing the geophysical data for this project.
