RE:the potential valueMakes a lot of sense what you are saying (except for the bankruptcy part....way off on that one) especially the following point below since Panasonic is widely known for batteries among other things and the battery tech would be an additional plus considering their huge investments with Tesla together recently:

"2) technique to recycle EV batteries. If this is one of the simplest, cheapest or most effective ways to recover material from spent batteries, Panasonic may want it for themselves and to license to others as it would drive down the need for expensive raw resources."
