Uracan continues to expand Double S uranium mineralization

Trading Symbol: TSX-V: URC VANCOUVER, June 10 /CNW/ - Uracan Resources Ltd. (the "Company") ispleased to announce that it has received all remaining assay results from itswinter 2009 diamond drill program on the Double S Zone within the 990 km(2)North Shore Property in Quebec. Uranium mineralization on the propertycontinues to occur as broad multiple stacked mineralized zones hosted bygranites and pegmatites, with drilled widths ranging from 6 meters to 44.9meters. Uranium grades range from 110 parts per million (ppm) (0.011%) to 161ppm (0.016%) U3O8. Double S Drilling ----------------- A total of 4,819.1 meters in 21 diamond drill holes was completed duringMarch and April of this year. Results for all drill holes have now beenreceived. The drill program was expanded from an initial 3,000 meter programdue to the success of the drill program. Up to 44.9 meters of 110 ppm (0.011%)U3O8 was noted in SS-09-86, further confirming that uranium mineralizationcontinues to the north of the main Double S resource area. A summary of selected mineralized zones is included below: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Drill U U3O8 U3O8 Zone Hole From To Length ppm % ppm ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-07-62(*) 95(*) 276.5(*) 181.5(*) 125(*) 0.015(*) 147(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-07-62(*) 293.0(*) 311.0(*) 18.0(*) 122(*) 0.014(*) 144(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-70(*) 71.9(*) 106.6(*) 34.7(*) 112(*) 0.013(*) 133(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-70(*) 138.8(*) 161.8(*) 23.0(*) 107(*) 0.013(*) 126(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-71(*) 15.3(*) 19.7(*) 4.5(*) 163(*) 0.019(*) 192(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-72(*) 164.3(*) 204.5(*) 40.3(*) 179(*) 0.021(*) 211(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) Includes(*) 165.8(*) 178.3(*) 12.5(*) 438(*) 0.052(*) 516(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double sub- S(*) includes(*) 173.3(*) 176.3(*) 3.0(*) 865(*) 0.102(*) 1020(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-73(*) 56.0(*) 72.0(*) 16.0(*) 112(*) 0.013(*) 133(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-76(*) 72.5(*) 90.6(*) 18.1(*) 115(*) 0.014(*) 136(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-77(*) 159.1(*) 171.5(*) 12.4(*) 87(*) 0.010(*) 103(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-78(*) 46.2(*) 118.3(*) 72.2(*) 122(*) 0.014(*) 144(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-80(*) 0.4(*) 39.2(*) 38.8(*) 121(*) 0.014(*) 143(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-80(*) 95.0(*) 110.0(*) 15.0(*) 88(*) 0.010(*) 104(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-80(*) 117.9(*) 128.4(*) 10.5(*) 282(*) 0.033(*) 333(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-80(*) 149.4(*) 179.5(*) 30.1(*) 196(*) 0.023(*) 231(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-81(*) 57.5(*) 84.5(*) 27.0(*) 109(*) 0.013(*) 128(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-82(*) 26.0(*) 38.5(*) 12.5(*) 81(*) 0.010(*) 96(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-82(*) 68.0(*) 140.0(*) 72.0(*) 98(*) 0.012(*) 115(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-82(*) 297.5(*) 308.0(*) 10.5(*) 91(*) 0.011(*) 107(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S(*) SS-09-83(*) 286.5(*) 292.5(*) 6.0(*) 102(*) 0.012(*) 120(*) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-86 132.5 141 8.5 137 0.016 161 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-86 159.6 204.5 44.9 94 0.011 110 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-86 303.5 309.5 6 94 0.011 111 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-87 185.9 210.6 24.7 120 0.014 142 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- (*) Denotes drill hole results previously released May 7, 2009 Drill hole location information and a complete listing of assay results will be posted on the Uracan website: www.uracan.ca QA/QC ----- Samples were shipped by company personnel in sealed containers to ChemexLaboratories of Val D'Or, Quebec for analysis. Chemex is the laboratoryfacility used for all assays from the North Shore Property program. Samplesare weighed and catalogued before sample preparation. The samples are crushedto 70% less than 2mm, split and then pulverized to 85% of the sample beingless than 75 (micro)m. All samples are assayed using ICP-MS with analysiscompleted for 47 elements. A QA/QC program was implemented as part of the sampling procedure for thedrill program. Field duplicates and field blanks were inserted into the samplestream with at least one blank and one duplicate inserted per group of 40samples sent to the laboratory. Uracan does not have a uranium standard toinsert into the sample stream at this time. The laboratory also has anextensive in house QAQC system as part of their quality control system. Summer 2009 Work Program ------------------------ The summer 2009 work program on the North Shore Property will start inearly June. Work will focus on two main areas of the property: Costebelle andthe Double S trend. Further diamond drilling on the Double S Zone, Middle Zoneand TJ Zone is planned to define additional mineralization. Based on resultsfrom this drilling an updated NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate will becompleted once all results have been received later in 2009. In addition, mapping and sampling of the Costebelle claims will definethe size and grade of the mineralized zones outlined during field work in2008. Prospecting for additional mineralization elsewhere on the Costebelleclaim will also occur. Once results from this field work are received, followup drilling is planned to further outline the mineralization in these areas.Fly camps will be set up in the various areas to allow crews to quicklydetermine the potential of the various targets.
