Ossur R&D chief receives warm welcome in Japan
Hilmar Janusson, Ossur's Vice President of Research and Development, was the special guest lecturer at the recent meeting of JAPO in Nagoya (Japanese Academy of Prosthetists and Orthotists). Introducing Ossur's technology platform 'Bionic Technology by Ossur', Hilmar presented the continuing developments of the platform with Ossur's view of the future.
Attendance at the major event broke all previous records, with more than 1031 delegates cramming the exhibition and conference rooms. Ossur marked the occasion with the launch of its Japanese Bionic Technology web site.
Our thanks go to patient models Mr Koichiro Sumi and Mr Takashi Yoshida, who were demonstrating the RHEO KNEE® and the PROPRIO FOOT™ respectively. The POWER KNEE was introduced for the first time in Japan this weekend, and was very well received.
Ossur's Technical Manager Nicholas Freijah gave presentations on the PROPRIO FOOT in conjunction with Pacific Supply, Nicholas also held several casting sessions on the booth.
Ossur's Technical Manager Per Kallvant gave an in-depth presentation about the new CTi Brace, which was very well received, while distributors Keiai exhibited this recently redesigned ligament brace for knees.
