Happy Valley-Goose Bay - Innu negotiators have reached a tentative deal
with Inco on an impacts-benefits agreement for the Voisey's Bay project.
Innu Nation president Peter Penashue said Thursday the package includes
environmental protection, training and jobs, and a compensation formula.
Penashue said the agreement now has to be ratified by a membership
vote, which will begin on June the 12th.
Labrador's other main aboriginal group, the Inuit are still negotiating their
own benefits agreement with Inco.
