VULCAN MINERALS INC. - UPDATE
St. John’s - Newfoundland - Vulcan Minerals Inc. (“the Company” TSX: VUL) announces that it is negotiating the acquisition of the services of a conventional rotary oil and gas rig to pursue its drilling program of two new petroleum wells at Flat Bay, Western Newfoundland. As soon as drilling services can be contracted and the rig mobilized the drilling program will commence.
The Company is currently installing a pump jack at its Flat Bay #1 well to continue with the flow testing of the well. The pump must first retrieve the stimulation fluid before any oil flow rates can be determined. The well was fracture-stimulated in March at a depth of 195 metres. The jack pump should be operational in the next few weeks after mechanical assembly and fine-tuning is complete.
John Tuach has resigned from the Board of Directors. John has been a director since the company’s inception and has been a valued contributor in regards to the mineral exploration activities of the company. Due to other work-related commitments he has elected to resign and wishes the company continued success. The company thanks John for his valued contribution over the last several years.
