That means the cash balance of vaxil has increased by 48,000. If you are a warrant holder you want to exercise while the current market price is not that far away from the strike price, which is $0.10 for the warrants that got exercised. That is because the spread from the strike price and the price that you exercised will be a taxable income. If you as a warrant holder is confident that the price will move much higher from the exercise price, you might want to exericse now that the warrant is in the money but not that far off from the strike price. And lets say as a warrant holder you are not confident that the price will go up in the near term, then why would you exercise now, otherwise you get hit for the capital gains tax and then carry an unrealized loss in your book if the price go down below the strike price, you might as well just wait. Looking at it, it seems the warrant holders are confident that the price will move up substantially and took the position now.
