Political Risk is growing in Mexico

The stricter approach toward permitting, coupled with workforce reductions in key ministries, has also prevented mining projects from advancing.

Currently, 29 applications have been halted by environment ministry Semarnat, with a further 34 by national water commission Conagua, the report said.

It appears the market is suggesting that moving a resource from exploration to production is becoming a real concern in Mexico. First Majestic's move to Nevada suggests they are concerned with the direction this new Government is taking.
