RE: RE: RE: today's news
RE: RE: RE: today's newsI have always been under the impression that the Michigan operator was Core Energy LLC since they claim to be to only company doing co2 eor in Michigan.
From their home page: https://coreenergyholdings.com/index.html
Core Energy, LLC is actively involved in innovative oil production technologies and is the only company in Michigan currently performing CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) operations, which is making Michigan's economy stronger and more energy independent while sequestering CO2. In addition to CO2 EOR, Core Energy is leading the way for Geologic CO2 Sequestration in Michigan by hosting a public/private partnership to research the storage potential of Michigan's geology. Geologic CO2 Sequestration is a world changing technique that could help clean the atmosphere by removing CO2 and permanently storing it deep underground.
Is there any indication that the Michigan operator could be Denbury?
Also from Core Energy web site: https://coreenergyholdings.com/WhyMichigan.html
Why Michigan?
All of Core Energy's business activity is located in the State of Michigan. With over 55,000 gas and oil wells, the Michigan Oil and Gas Industry is a lot larger than most people think. Among the fifty states, Michigan ranks 1st for natural gas storage and 17th and 11th for oil and gas production, respectively. However, Michigan only produces 5% of the oil and 25% of the gas that it consumes.
Core Energy sees great oil and gas potential remaining in Michigan and believes that it can help Michigan become more energy independent and economically conscious while helping to reduce atmospheric CO2 emissions.Currently, Core Energy operates the only CO2 EOR operations in Michigan, and is the only company engaged in the field demonstration of CO2 Sequestration activities.
Today's news release indicates that Powerwave has doubled the injection rate of co2 in Michigan. I don't know if Michigan's geology is the same across the state, but it sure looks promising to see the early results given the huge potential in this state. 55 000 gas and oil wells. I don't know how many of those are oil wells, but it sure looks like a very interesting market for Powerwave tools. If WEE could put a Powerwave tool in 10% of those wells down the road, shareholders would surely be well rewarded. But don't expect an order of 2,000 tools next week. You will have to give it some time IMO.
