That explains one of the reasons it went to the high $3s in Jan. 2004. After settling back below $1, it got a bit higher at the end of June 2008. With the benefit of hindsight, especially seeing that the average price over 10 years was around $2, the offer of $4 should have been accepted in that bubble, because on a fundamental basis it was not worth anything like that price, in 2004 or 2008, as an actual business with a current return on investment.
Now it will be sold as a business, presumably according to the value it has for the companies that are looking at the expenses and resulting cash flow.
