Brookfield PR doesn't say it won't offer more

Brookfield PR doesn't say it won't offer more

Brookfield only said that it sent a letter to WND that it is:

"terminating all present or future discussions regarding any alternative transactions
to its all-cash offer..."

That doesn't stop it from sending more letters, or phone calls or emails to restart negotiations.

And it doesn't mean that they can't make

a. a new offer,

b. a different offer, or

c. an increased offer

WITHOUT discussing it with WND (and they could do that if their current actions don't result in them getting enough shares tendered to their $2.50 offer).

While I have no idea whether Brookfield is playing us all or just WND or whether they really will walk away, but I have heard that they have walked away from bids before and returned (heresay only). I also know when Imperial Metals was in a contest to bid higher than Taseko to acquire bcMetals, Imperial put out a news release saying they were giving up after Taseko beat Imperials best bid. Imperial then contradicted themselves and bid higher, winning the bidding war and getting control of the rich Red Chris project in northern BC.

My point is that there is a poker game going on and we are just spectators. The next move is WND's and, hopefully, Rothschild will have a better bid for us now, so the companies doing due diligence with them won't lose out completely by Brookfield stampeding WND shareholders to tender to be prudent.
