Then you read the complete oposite out of it, than me:
We will be testing the Jeribe Formation in the Sarqala-1 well in the very near future where previous analysis of drill cuttings showed good oil potential.
And not:
...where analysis has been showing good oil potential.
I'm no native english speaking person, and could be totally wrong, but the results of the analysis should have not disappeared, so no really need to use Past Tense. Why didn't they use Present Perfect Tense?
