Some Interesting Questions? It actually was not that long ago that YFI`s attention was devoted primarily to the enterprise sector. The question to ask yourself now is whether WFIs` attention to the residential sector was precipitated by mere speculation based on the assumption there was a demand to satisfy, or was it triggered by invite from leading members of residential cable co.s who in their wisdom speculated that YFIs` technology could possibly provide benefit to their near future and long term residential needs.
Of course you are aware of YFIs` selection and invite to attend UpRamp. Were you also aware that CLs` had already been working on 10G long before that? Is it then that surprising that YFI considers itself part of the CLs` family especially after co-innovating Dual Channel WiFi with CableLabs? So what`s up with DCW being a key component in at least 2 pillars of 10G? Speed, and Reliability. How about Low Latency Wifi for 10G? Sorry, you have to be a CL member who has signed the necessary agreements to enter that door. Oh, that`s right too! CLs` finds it in their interest, and their members interest to keep secrets. Well, what about YFI? What would they demand before allowing you to enter the door to their IP? Would they demand the same? As one poster here likes to reiterate: "That`s just common business sense."
Anyway, I digress. Do you remember when after the POC and Pilot what Andrew told you what they discovered about the latency? OK, do you consider that favorable news considering that latency is a key component of CLs` 10G initiative?
Finally, were you surprised when they announced that a POC had been conducted? How about the performance results including the 50% lower latency? Personally, I wasn`t surprised as I speculated that they had already been aware of that for some time. But that`s me being me, and besides, how would I know anyway? I only read what is available to everyone else, including you.
