you are right.. somewhere i read that a cubic ft of graphite weighs 44 lbs  but that is not correct

 

it weighs  127.86 lbs or about 2 times that of water.

so divide my # of tons by 2.9= 9.6 tons of rock to get 1 tonne of graphite.

much better numbers now.
