Viacom is a global media company with several leading cable network properties, including Nickelodeon, MTV, BET, Comedy Central, VH1, CMT, and Paramount. Viacom has also built several online properties on the strength of these brands. Viacom's Paramount Pictures produces original motion pictures and owns a library of 2,500 films, including the Godfather and Transformers series. Viacom was spun out of CBS at the end of 2005.

RE: disappointed in mgmt.Companies typically don't comment on movements in their stocks unless something bizaar happens like a halt on news pending and then there is no news pending. I think most of the time they don't know why their stock is suddenly moving up or down because they don't know who's moving in or out of positions. On thinly traded stocks like this, a relatively small institutional player can make a big difference in price if they aren't discreet enough to spread the execution over sufficient time to keep the stock from whipsawing.
