Getting rid of spam!!

It is like having and itchy ass, if you don't scratch it nobody else will. new to this thread but not to the annoying spam. As StockHouse doesn't want to do anything about spam, I posted an idea on another thread that went like this. The only time a spammer posts on a thread is when he is spamming, SO. To identify the regulars on a thread why not identify yourself buy typing in the company Stocksymbol in the subject line, and then your subject. That would verify that you are a regular to this thread, or any other. If spammer caught on, that would mean that they would atleast be inconvenienced to putting in the symbol everytime they posted, if they even become aware of what is going on. Just a thought. At least we'd be doing something.

about finding the spammers and stringing them up on the nearest tree? I'd think that after a couple of these "events' spamming would drop noticabilty. What do you think?

I suggest we lock them in a cage full of large rats first. Maybe a couple of days with the rats (no food or water) will soften them up before they head to the gallows. I also suggest that the "event" be broadcast live on the web. Maybe set up a site www.hangyoubastards.com.
