Quebec City update

Here I am in beautiful snow covered Quebec City. This conference just keeps on getting better every year. I'll keep this brief since I have to go mingle some more soon and must nap before the cinq-à-sept. Paul Archer's presentation yesterday was good but did not reveal anything you stockhounds dont already know. Here is what the rumour mill is saying: They are waiting for freeze-up in order to delineate more oz's and in the meantime they are doing some exploratory drilling around the original Noranda showing, 5-6 km SSE of roberto. If they strike here, where several good grab and channel samples were collected, it's a whole new ball game. On the business front you can expect news before Xmas. The plan is to sell Eleonore only, not all of Virginia. Bids are being accepted now and the closing date is this upcomming friday (nov. 25). Newmont, AEM, Glamis and PDG are bidding for sure; I dont know who else. Worse case scenario, IMO, is that the first offer is accepted, we get cash and/or shares of the winner plus shares in a VIA minus Eleonore. Best case is that one of the losing bidders decides to take out all of VIA, enacting the Shareholder rights plan and boosting the shares upwards. Anyways thats what I remember from my fog of alcohol. The sentiment I'm left with is that it's not time to sell my shares. Also no one seems to know why André is in such a hurry to sell. I think it's because he doesn't want to wait for a resource estimate which will disappoint inflated expectations and cause a share price collapse. Ciao.

Personally, I don't want nor do I think it should be sold. It just doesn't seem to make sense given the expanding resource and rising price of gold. Shear may be right though. I was told when I bought last december that there was an exit strategy and it would be sold sooner than later. I was told a couple of months ago that it would likely be an intermediate and likely before ...more

There is no need to worry abour ore resource numbers till we get to a certain size ,then put a cut-off date in place and create a study. any future drilling would be a add on. enough of this ,its ridicules to even offer a fair rebuttale if some one wants the property as is they would have to pay a very big dollar, it would be better for all parties to continue drilling there is so much ...more

Can't thank you enough for the update Shear. Pretty consistent with what I have heard...although I hadn't heard that they were accepting bids with a pending deadline in place. If all is true, it better be a deal where the shareholders are paid...not the company's treasury. I assure you, they will have a legal problem if they pursue the later. Regards,

I don't understand Shear's post. He writes: They are waiting for freeze-up in order to delineate more oz's and in the meantime they are doing some exploratory drilling around the original Noranda showing, 5-6 km SSE of roberto. If they strike here, where several good grab and channel samples were collected, it's a whole new ball game. On the business front you can expect ...more

I think it's because he doesn't want to wait for a resource estimate which will disappoint inflated expectations and cause a share price collapse This is wrong information even if its your opinion THEY ALL READY HAVE HAD A GREAT LOOK ,the books have been open for weeks Most companies have computer software that can do a very good job of proving up ounces without a scoping study. ...more

If any of you think that shear is right with his statements,Then sell know , there is no way anyone will pay present market value .if thats what we are dealing with!!!! The confeditial ip survey and anything management deems a value and has not shared with the world , a confeditial agreement has been signed before they get to look. If management took the view that we should get best bid ...more

I too was at the Quebec meeting. I heard nothing about Via acquisition debate, but suspect the company will want to more fully understand the potential of the deposit before making a deal. I was very impressed by the new geological map presented in Paul Archers presentation and at their booth. I was also impressed with the extent of the alteration system consisting of thick zones of ...more

I thank you very much Geo113 , VERY INFORMATIVE POST congratulations !!!! I was unable to attend .... so I am very happy with your resume ..... especially with the very good news that Paul Archer was delivering . I want to say to new shareholders like Spindoctor2 that you won't get what you are looking for( sizzle ) with VIA management .... so you can sell right away instead of losing your ...more

In detail the structural geology is quite complex. The main zone occurs within the nose of an overturned anticline plunging to the east in a fold which would best be called a "synformal anticline". An east-west trending fault separates this central zone from the mineralization to the north. Movement on this fault seems to be have been dominantly dip-slip with uplift of the northern block ...more
