Escape from Freedom

Escape from Freedom

was the name of a book I was assigned in University;  don't remember if I read it; if I did I don't remember what it was about.  But I have never forgotten the title,  and the meaning i took from it was that paradoxically too much freedom can be debilitating.  I thought of it again when thinking of you who are trying to trade the ups and downs of this stock.  With a trader's freedom every day, even several times a day, you have the choice to buy or sell shares of the stock.  You are a trader and so when the stock runs up past $1.50 you ask yourself should you sell or is this part of a bigger move up; in retrospect a good decision for the trader was to sell and get back in at these levels, and you beat yourself up over a decision that in retrospect seems so obviously wrong - the decision to hang on.  Arguably for a whole host of reasons, the decision to hang on after the run up was the right decision at that point, and it does not become the wrong decision because of subsequent events unknown at the time.   If you look at the VTR chart over the past six months or so it is quite volatile and I truly do not believe anyone could have predicted these moves consistently to make trading profitable.  If you had a system that worked for you congrats.  I do not buy the Americanbulls so called record of success for a number of reasons which are obvious to anyone who studies their data.  The point I am making here is that you can drive yourself crazy and lose perspective with the freedom to trade this stock daily.  I have experienced this first hand when I went through a period of frenetic trading of a huge number of securities.  It was truly debilitating and not effective.  Many of you have been on this board for a long time and you have acquired a great deal of knowledge about Volta.  When you are making daily trading decisions you focus on recent events and sometimes forget about many of the good and valid reasons there are to be optimistic about VTR.  If you want to escape from freedom, just for a little bit, make a decision that my trade is to hold until........lets say the PFS comes out.  So you make that commitment, no decisions have to be made until then, and you have escaped from freedom.  It works for me.
