market sentiment

market sentiment

does not favour a company like VTR now;  its a "risk-off" environment, and a tiny company developing a gold deposit toward a mine in West Africa is unlikely to be the flavour of the day.  I doubt there is much that Kevin could do to get the market excited about our project right now.  The talk of a staged development of a mine is more realistic.  But its not unusual for a large deposit like we have to sit around for several years doing nothing before it actually is mined, if ever.  In the meantime, continuing to understand and define the Kiaka resource is the best strategy.  And market sentiment is just out of our hands.  Things happening in Europe may not very relevant to what we are trying to do at Volta but that stuff is probably why we are not seeing a great deal of interest in VTR.   Eventually there will be a change in sentiment and market participants will be looking for something other than safe dividend stocks.  The kind of market sentiment where people become adventurous and see the potential is our company will come again but it is not here today.  So I say we have to wait for overall market sentiment to change.  But also, do not underestimate the talent at Volta.  We have some great properties, some money to continue to drill, so they could quite possibly pull a rabbit out of a hat that could change things significantly regardless of market sentiment.
