Yes we are doing not bad today.  ORE down 7 per cent.  Gold ETFs including NUGT and HGU are down.  KGN down.   I am not going to get wound up about two cents off for VTR.  Its way, way premature to start thinking this is a bad investment.  October is a tough month, and the consensus has gold stocks correcting throughout the month.   Looking forward to ...more

I'm not saying that Volta is a bad company, or that mgmt is doing a bad job, or that things won't ever turn around for them, but I think objectively, unless you bought your entire position into the lows at <= .5 (or have managed to somehow trade your way into that position) it's been a terrible investment.  Even somebody who bought in recently at the 'bargain price' of  ...more

I'm gonna get my ACB as low as possible if there is another sell off and then leave it in the hands of the gods, way I see it, I can lose money now while I'm young, but I have to take a stand against Mr Market which has manipulated me in every possible way in the past, made me sell in a panic cos I got scared, made me buy at the high cos I didn't want to miss out on the upside.  I ...more

I'm gonna get my ACB as low as possible if there is another sell off and then leave it in the hands of the gods   There's something to be said for that approach, especially if you're in a fundamentally good company and a bull market for that company.  I've owned a lot of really good companies and made good money on them, but would have made a lot more if I'd held ...more

VentureTrader1, all good points.   I agree with the sentiment that its too late to sell now if you are trading on technicals.   We stalled for a long time at about $2.40 and that could have been a clue, or you could have seen it as base building for the next move up.  After that the breakdown below $2.00 was a serious technical event.  But no point in beating ...more
