Long-term trend (like back to 2000) broken, no matter what the fundamentals are.  This is the problem with gold - political tool and dominated by paper, and anybody who REALLY wants to accumulate (eg China, Russia, India) will be pushing to get the price as low as possible.  Which means gameover for the miners (not that it wasn't game-over back in 2010).    I was pretty ...more

Anyone think it might be the capitulation that we were all waiting for but which never arose at the time we were expecting it?

Not me, I think the POG is holding up well;  what everyone has expected over the past two years and more was a very significant retracement, to $1200 or worse.  If it hasn't happened yet, I doubt it is going to happen and the next significant move should be up, not down.

For the last week the trading volume on all stocks has been very low. I can not see Volta going back to the lows again of 28 cents. If it does I will be buying more like last time. It is like blowing up a balloon. Keep blowning and it will fill up and take off eventually. Volta will not die. We have funds and a good management. We only have to wait it out for 4 more months. Time to be stocking the ...more

You can be a quadrillionaire, if you just buy some DUST.  It will go to infinity as the GDX goes to 0.  I suspect that the sellers of the gold sector don't particularly like the idea that there's some way a retail investor could actually make money on a leveraged bear fund, but I guess they've just decided to accept it as colllateral damage.  Anyway, DUST to infinity ...more
