That's not what Vatakoula Gold's regulatory filings say, and I'm more inclined to trust them than a random internet article. Wesson took over the mine in March 2007 - he had worked at the mine for several years as an employee of the previous owners - and in July River Diamonds (now Vatakoula Gold) bought a share of it. After that work to restart the mine began and about six months later Vatakoula Gold announced a deal to purchase the mine outright.
