Unless you bought shares today and were hoping for a quick pop or you really expect that Sangdong would never get done (in which case, why are you a shareholder?), a buyout would not be in your best interests. Even at 30 cents, which would be a huge premium from today but probably the minimum that people would think about entertaining an offer since the price was 40 cents for a while and north of 20 for even longer, you'd be better off to wait 18 months and have the mine producing and shareprice more in the 70-80 cent range or wait longer and make more still.

I don't think Buffett is personally involved in the small bolt-ons from BH subsidiaries, so I wouldn't paint it as two billionaires fighting for control.
