Canada Looking For Free Trade Agreement With South America!

Starting tomorrow, Canada will start negotiations with the South American trade bloc.

And yes, this will include Uruguay!

If I was in the position of acquiring a company like that I couldn't see myself putting in an offer until the projects currently under construction are completed. Essentially everything that's in the checklist is proven. Acquiring ICC anytime before April would be like drafting a player before the combine. They need to prove their worth first. Like the article says it will be tough (because of Brazil) to hammer out a deal but at least they are opening the discussion. I think the bigger deal is the recent appointment of delamente to organigram. He came from ICC so this could be a potential Catalyst for New Deals or even a takeover. Huge Imo.

Well this of course means next to nothing in terms of ICC. Trade agreements are about import duties and freeing that money up inside the nation to nation goods and services flow. One: they typically take years and two: there is no known duties at this point to import MJ back to canada . Also you would need more market to gain more market share. Think more in terms of how big will the south ...more

You are not looking at the bigger picture. No, this does not affect ICC directly, but indirectly, it very well could (and for the better!) As you said “there is no known duties at this point”. There eventually will be import/export fees/duties placed on marijuana. Let’s not kid ourselves. It will be easy money for the government.  We we will have to wait and see what happens.
