Trudeau has said the pandemic offers an "unprecedented opportunity" for a long-term recovery plan. Econimists expect Canada to see budget deficits in excess of 100 billion. Chrystia Freeland to be Canada's new finance minister said "Covid offers a "fabulous opportunity for our country to craft an equitable and green recovery". One line of thinking says they will go for a large-scale investment in renewable energy and other green initiatives, selling it as job creation package to help Canada get pasts its reliance on exporting oil & gas
