Business as usual at Xebec A good sign that it is ‘business as usual’ is that Xebec is still hiring. So far in April they have posted 7 key positions. Most report to the Industrial division. There is also one new Vice President position (not posted) that shows up in the ‘reporting to section’ of one of these postings. See below
All signs are that XBC is continuing to hire to support rapid growth. Most companies put the brakes on hiring when they have a significant earinings miss. That is usually because it takes a few quarters to sort problems out.
A couple of the jobs had interesting requirements.
The Product Mechanical Engineer position had this bullet under its responsibilities,... ‘Oversee and execute the transfer of design control from Xebec’s Canadian facility to a US-based production location’. Kurt has mentioned that they want to have production in the US to work around any roadblocks caused by a ‘buy US’ policy. So it looks like that has gone from ‘talking about it’ to ‘making it happen’. To me the fact that the task is to transfer design control from Blainville means Cleantech, more specifically BGS Biostream.
The Business Analyst Finance reports to a position that does not exist today - Vice President, Acquisition Integration and Corporate Development. So it looks like they are adding a very senior resource to streamline the acquisition process.
